COURSE OVERVIEW
UCAS CODE W990 The events industry is now the UK’s 16th largest employer, with more than 530,000 people directly employed. There are roughly 25,000 British-based businesses who provide venue hire, event production, exhibition stand design, technology solutions, food and drink, transport, and a raft of other goods and services, all related to the staging of live events. However, employers and organisers report a significant lack of skilled graduates able to work in the industry.
COURSE DETAILS
This programme has been developed to meet the skills demanded and will explore and make use of new and emerging technology (Augmented and Virtual Reality) in the design and delivery of large scale visitor experiences. You will also utilise large scale 3D printing and model making equipment in design and staging for major events and exhibitions. Resources • Digital 3D software • Large scale workshops • The Northern Studios* - production facility of large scale sets and exhibitions • Digital drawing tablets • High definition video cameras • Green screen facilities • TV and film studios Industry Links Potentially, links may be established with leaders in immersive technology and VR experience, including Hedgehog Lab and Animmersion.
