Post-production is an ever-developing feature of film and TV, live events and, increasingly, stage productions, where directors are seeking new ways of presenting action and sets. Post-production and editing are identified nationally as employment growth areas over the next decade.
COURSE DETAILS
Aligning with other programmes, such as BA (Hons) Acting for Stage & Screen; Film, TV & Theatre Production and the other FdAs in Sound Design and Post-Production, there is a unique opportunity for you to develop a collaborative approach to stage and screen production, mirroring the workings of industry, by enrolling onto our FdA Post-Production for Stage and Screen course here at The Northern School of Art. You will create a product on screen or in a theatrical production, which will showcase your skills and abilities to create new and original content with cutting edge 4K technology, as well as the opportunity to create both traditional 16mm film and create visual effects solutions for film, TV and contemporary theatre practice to give you a broad showreel of work over the two-year programme, to take into industry or to allow you to complete a top up year to obtain your BA (Honours).

WHAT YOU WILL STUDY
on FdA Post-Production for Stage & Screen
In your first year (Level Four), you will explore:
• Core technical production skills
• Introduction post production workflow
• Offline and online post-production practice
• Live project
In your second year (Level Five), you will develop:
• Live projects (theatre or Film)
• Advanced post production
• Theatre VFX
• VFX for 16mm film
• Working with actors and directors
• History and context of the visual industries
