T-Levels follow the study of GCSE’s and Technical Awards and offer an alternative to A-Levels and Apprenticeships. T-Levels combine classroom theory, practical learning and a minimum 315 hours of industry placement with an employer. The work placement ensures students have real experience of the workplace. T-Level programmes are developed in collaboration with employers so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares students for work. T-Levels provide the knowledge and experience needed to progress to highly skilled employment, an Apprenticeship or higher-level study, including university.

Your T-Level will be worth up to 168 UCAS points (a T-Level Distinction* is worth the same as 3 A-Levels at A*) and will be recognised by universities and other education providers so you can choose to continue studying if you wish. The Department for Education have published a list of higher education providers who will consider T-Levels for entry onto at least one course. When you pass your T-Level, you will get a nationally recognised certificate showing the overall grade you achieved - pass, merit, distinction or distinction*. It will also give details of what you learned on the course to help you move into skilled employment or a higher apprenticeship.

You’ll spend 80% of your time in the classroom and 20% on a 45-day placement with an employer to give you the skills and knowledge companies look for. Your industry placement gives you the chance to learn what a real career is like while you continue your studies. When and how you complete it depends on the T-Level, school or college, and employer. Like A-Levels, there are no tuition fees to study a T-Level. This course is dependent on application levels and employer liaison and may not go ahead if criteria is not met.
