Before adding The Northern School of Art as your Clearing choice, we recommend contacting our Admissions Team to discuss course availability and ensure you're applying for the most suitable programme.

I've accepted a place elsewhere but I've changed my mind
It's not unusual to rethink your options.
If you have already accepted a place at another university or college but now feel The Northern School of Art is the better fit for you, you may be able to release yourself into Clearing through your UCAS Hub account.
Self-release allows you to decline your current confirmed place and become eligible to apply elsewhere through Clearing.
Before making any decisions, we strongly recommend speaking to our Admissions Team so we can discuss your options and explain the process.
For further information, please refer to the UCAS guidance on self-release and declining your firm place. Declining your firm place | UCAS
Why Choose The Northern School of Art?
Specialist Creative Degrees
Unlike larger universities, creativity is at the heart of everything we do. You'll study alongside like-minded students in a specialist art school environment focused entirely on the creative industries.
Gold-Rated Student Experience
We have been awarded Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), recognising the outstanding experience and outcomes our students achieve.
Industry-Standard Facilities
From professional studios and workshops to specialist digital facilities and production spaces, you'll learn using the same tools and environments found across the creative industries.
Personal Support and Small Class Sizes
Our students benefit from close contact with tutors, personalised support and a welcoming community where everyone is known as an individual.
Affordable Student Living
Hartlepool is one of the UK's most affordable student locations, meaning your maintenance loan can go significantly further than in many larger university cities.
Lower accommodation costs and everyday living expenses can make a real difference, helping you focus on your studies and creative development rather than worrying about finances.
Great Value Student Accommodation
We work closely with trusted accommodation providers and can help you find suitable student housing for September.
Whether you're looking for halls-style accommodation or private rented housing, our team can provide advice and support to help make your move as smooth as possible.
