Thanks for catching that — I’ll pull it back to something accurate and less time-sensitive.
Since graduating from The Northern School of Art’s BA (Hons) Fine Art course, Liv Askwith has developed a career across contemporary art, curation, marketing and creative project development.
Her interest in the wider arts sector developed alongside her own practice, leading her to study an MA in Design History and gain experience in exhibition curation, gallery management and arts marketing, including a role as Curator and Marketing Co-ordinator at Platform A Gallery, coordinating artists and artwork installations and developing marketing and promotional activity for exhibitions with artists from the North East and internationally.
Alongside her work in the arts sector, Liv is part of TART, a platform celebrating working-class creatives in the North East, contributing to its magazine and co-hosting The TART Podcast, which explores visual art, film, interviews and other creative subjects.
Liv has also continued to develop her own artistic practice, exploring themes including hyper-femininity and art history.
“I literally would not have this job without going to The Northern School of Art. I think a lot of the ways the Fine Art course is designed really help to prepare you for working in industry,” Liv has said.
