The Northern School of Art in Berlin
Degree students studying within our Visual Arts Faculty recently had the opportunity to visit Berlin! Visits and experiences such as these offer opportunities to engage in the wider international creative community and make across course connections. Students visited exhibitions, studios, historical sites and cultural spots.
Fine Art Lecturer commented “Everyone had a great time visiting various art galleries, artists’ studios and cultural sites in a busy schedule. Students and staff form different courses mixed socially and new friendships were made.”
Individual itineraries were created to give students on specific courses experiences relevant to their programme of study. Stops included:
Hamburger Bahnhof, Neue National Galerie, Kunstraum Kreuzberg, Konrad Fischer Galerie, East side galerie, Topography of terror, Jewish museum, Nan Golding exhibition, Helmut Newton institute.
The Berlin Showroom of Timorous Beastie including a meeting with their Design Show Room Manager Katarzyna Lontkowska, The Museum of Decorative Arts, The Material Legacies exhibition & the Urban Nation exhibition.
The Eastside gallery, The natural history museum, The zoo, Topography of Terror, Hamburger Barnhoff, Urban Nation, Many Tentacles, Renate Comics, Neuro Titan, Studio Hoekstra, Reichstag
