In the recently published Times Higher Education article ‘ Can philosophy survive in an academy driven by impact and employability?’ we are reminded of the breakdown of % of UK graduates in work and further study six months after graduating, 2011-12 to 2013-14 by subject area, which shows creative arts the second highest for % of graduate employability after medicine and dentistry.
From the chart, which breaks down publicly available Higher Education Statistics Agency’s Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education Survey, creative arts as a subject area has around 76% of its graduates in work and around 9% in further study, which is lower than CCAD’s 2014 graduate employability statistic of 96%.
