Since graduating with First Class Honours from The Northern School of Art in 2022, Hannah Thompson has developed a career in production and prosthetics, building on her skills in modelmaking, fabrication and visual effects.

During her degree, Hannah developed a particular interest in stop-motion animation and character fabrication. She created stop-motion puppets for Boulder & Pebble, a film by fellow Northern School of Art alumnus Sam Burt, gaining valuable experience in puppet making, fabrication and problem-solving. Her work on the project was also a strong example of the collaborative opportunities available across the School’s creative courses.

Following graduation, Hannah moved into the prosthetics industry, gaining professional experience and developing her skills across production and fabrication. She has since worked with Morme Prosthetics, where her experience has included working with silicone and prosthetic processes. Her professional development has allowed her to build on the practical making skills developed during her degree while gaining experience within a specialist area of the creative industries.

Hannah’s career demonstrates the versatility of Modelmaking and VFX, with the skills developed through the course providing a foundation for work across fabrication, prosthetics, character creation and production.
