Since graduating with a BA (Hons) Costume Interpretation with Design in 2011, Alison Lyons has built a career in costume for film and television, working across feature films, television dramas and period adaptations for major broadcasters and production companies.
Alison began her career as a costume trainee on ITV’s Vera, going on to trainee and assistant roles on productions including The Paradise, Wolf Hall and 20th Century Fox’s Exodus: Gods and Kings, directed by fellow Northern School of Art alumnus Sir Ridley Scott.
She progressed into costume standby and coordination roles across a wide range of major productions, including Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi, Sherlock: The Abominable Bride, Free Fire, SS-GB, Tom & Jerry, Operation Mincemeat and Downton Abbey: A New Era.
Alison has since moved into costume supervision, working as Principal Costume Supervisor on Knuckles, starring Idris Elba, Costume Supervisor on Little Disasters and 100 Nights of Hero, and Principal Supervisor on a new adaptation of Sense and Sensibility.
