Portrait and commercial photographer and filmmaker Amit Lennon, who has shot many famous faces and had work featured in numerous exhibitions, will be talking about his work and career in the next #CreativeCareers event being hosted by The Northern School of Art on Wednesday 24 February.

Amit specialises in intimate and individualistic portraits of subjects, both famous or unknown, and his portfolio includes a huge range of household names including singer Dolly Parton, hip hop pioneer Grandmaster Flash and UK Rapper AJ Tracey, pop singer and composer Charli XCX, actors Angela Griffin and Tom Hiddleston and chef Jamie Oliver (images all copyright Amit Lennon Photography).

Amit has won many awards during his career, including being a Portrait of Britain winner – in 2018 and 2020.

He was also commissioned by The House of Commons to create a series of portraits of MPs, for their permanent collection to be displayed in the Palace of Westminster, the first time that the works of art committee had commissioned photography for the collection.

Amit’s work features regularly in national publications including The Times, The Observer, The New Statesman and Grazia to name a few.

About The Northern School of Art’s Creative Careers series:

The schedule of talks covers a range of disciplines and they are delivered by industry speakers, creative lecturers and graduates from across the whole creative sector.

These sessions can serve as a useful resource for schools and colleges (or anyone with an interest in creative development and progression). Usually lasting around 45 minutes, they take place on a Wednesday afternoon.
