Charly Mupenga has developed his own painting practice since graduating from The Northern School of Art with a BA (Hons) Fine Art and an MA in Arts Practice, establishing a dedicated studio where he can focus on his work and explore new ideas.
Charly has been drawing since childhood and sees drawing as a language that allows him to express ideas and experiences without words. His painting My Story reflects his own personal journey, and his wider practice continues to draw on his own experiences.
Alongside his studio practice, Charly creates large-scale murals for public and private clients, including a mural for Middlesbrough hair salon Chintz and a commissioned piece for Stockton-on-Tees’ BIG Art Festival. He also contributed to Blank Canvas, a site-specific installation at Stockton Riverside Festival, and continues to produce marble-effect pieces for private clients.
