Since graduating from The Northern School of Art’s BA (Hons) Film, TV and Theatre Production course, Hannah Trafford has built a varied career as a Stage Manager and Sound Engineer, working across touring theatre, circus, pantomime and children’s productions.
Hannah’s career has taken her across a wide range of live productions, developing experience in both stage management and sound. Her work combines the practical, technical and organisational skills needed to keep live performances running smoothly, often working as part of a wider production team and adapting to the different demands of each show.
A significant milestone in Hannah’s career has been making her West End debut with Éireann, an Irish dance production. Working as Company Manager for the production, Hannah was responsible for supporting the company and helping to coordinate the practical running of the show, bringing together the technical and organisational experience she has developed across live performance.
Her experience across touring productions has also included circus, pantomime and children’s theatre, giving her the opportunity to work in a variety of performance environments and with different types of companies. This breadth of experience has helped Hannah develop a flexible approach to production, with no two shows necessarily presenting the same challenges.
Hannah’s career demonstrates the range of opportunities available to graduates of Film, TV and Theatre Production beyond traditional film and television roles. Her progression into stage management and sound engineering highlights how the production, technical and organisational skills developed through the course can be applied across live performance, touring and the West End.
