IWD: Eyv Hardwick
Eyv began her career as a self-employed designer maker creating products which were sold and exhibited, nationally and internationally, she travelled extensively raising the profile of British Design whilst delivering arts workshops in international community settings working for The British Council. This work continued as a Regional Arts Development Manager for local councils before joining The Northern School of Art as a Teacher -Educator. Eyv specialises in Learning, Teaching and Assessment approaches, exploring new differing ways of engaging with our learners.
Eyv also continues her own practice as a Textiles Artist, she has a passion for hand constructed textiles and functionality of handmade items, she is particularly interested in the ethical and environmental elements of material transformations using non-traditional materials to create functional domestic fit for purpose items. Her degree in carpet design has influenced her design processes with industrial rigour.
On top of this in her spare time she runs a local Netball Club and Regional League where over 100 ladies play netball weekly.
