Justgiving page set up to help alumnus Sami Hogg
A justgiving page has been created for The Northern School of Art alumnus, Sami Hogg who has unfortunately suffered sight-loss due to having type 1 diabetes.
Sami, who studied BTEC Extended Diploma in Fashion with us, in 2012 and won Psyche Young Designer of the Year, has seen her entire world impacted by her loss of vision – struggling with everyday activities, not to mention her dreams of following her design ambitions being put on hold.
When Sami left us, she attended Norwich University of the Arts and graduated with a First class degree in Fashion. She saw her work recognised at Graduate Fashion week, London Alternative Fashion week and on Arts Thread.
In April 2016 she completed a three months internship in Berlin, on returning she was motivated and inspired to start her own brand at a studio in Norwich. However, at the end of May, Sami’s vision began to deteriorate and unfortunately got progressively worse.
A justgiving page has been created by her boyfriend, Mark, to raise money to buy an OrCam device – the latest and most advanced wearable assistive technology, which has assisted many people with sight problems regain their independence.
