Since graduating from The Northern School of Art’s BA (Hons) Modelmaking and VFX course, Lewis King has developed a creative practice combining modelmaking, sculpting, prop making and visual effects.
Lewis works across practical and digital processes, creating detailed models, characters, props and visual effects for creative projects. His practice brings together traditional making skills with digital techniques, allowing him to move between physical fabrication and screen-based work.
His portfolio demonstrates a particular interest in character and creature work, miniature environments and detailed practical builds, with projects ranging from concept development and sculpting through to finished models and visual effects. His work reflects the hands-on, problem-solving approach developed through his time studying Modelmaking and VFX, while continuing to explore new materials, techniques and creative processes.
Alongside commissioned and personal work, Lewis has continued to develop his own creative identity and portfolio, sharing his modelmaking and making processes through his online presence. His multidisciplinary approach allows him to work across different areas of the creative industries, combining craftsmanship, design and visual storytelling.
