Since graduating from The Northern School of Art’s BA (Hons) Film, TV and Theatre Production course, Lou Tonner co-founded Wander Films, a Middlesbrough-based video production and content marketing agency, alongside Chloë Clover.

Set up in 2018, Wander Films grew from a two-person operation filming tourism content while travelling through Australia and South East Asia into a team of around 15, working with clients across the UK from its own premises on Albert Road, Middlesbrough. The company was selected for Pact’s Future30 scheme, supporting some of the UK’s most promising independent production companies, and later took part in Future North East with North East Screen.

Wander Films has since expanded from brand and marketing content into television, securing paid development with Channel 4 Digital and BBC Three and a place on the BBC Small Indie Fund. The company’s documentary debut, The Lakes: Our Life on the Edge, premiered on iPlayer and aired on BBC One in 2025.
