Since graduating from The Northern School of Art with a BA (Hons) in Textiles and Surface Design, Rhianon Vest has developed a creative career in commercial styling, art direction and visual content. As a Creative Stylist at Barker and Stonehouse, she oversees the styling of e-commerce and seasonal brochure shoots, helping to ensure that the company’s visual identity is reflected consistently across its campaigns and communications.
Rhianon’s role combines many different aspects of the creative process. Her work has taken her to trend shows and location shoots for brochure and television campaigns, as well as into the studio to create photography for the website. She also collaborates closely with social and content teams on seasonal campaigns, bringing together styling, visual direction and photography to create cohesive content across different platforms.
A key part of Rhianon’s work is helping to shape the visual direction of creative projects. She has contributed to art direction and visual development across a range of campaigns, major launches and brand collaborations, including work with leading brands such as Marks & Spencer.
Her career demonstrates how the skills developed through Textiles with Surface Design can be applied beyond traditional textile practice. An understanding of colour, materials, composition and visual communication has provided Rhianon with a strong creative foundation that she has taken into the world of commercial styling and brand content.
Working across e-commerce, photography, television, brochures and social media, Rhianon’s role brings together creative thinking with the practical demands of a commercial environment. Her experience shows how a background in textiles and surface design can open up opportunities across the wider creative industries, including styling, art direction and visual content production.
