Since graduating from The Northern School of Art’s BA (Hons) Acting for Stage & Screen course in 2024, Ruby Allen has built professional experience across film, television and theatre, with work ranging from national advertising campaigns to international screen projects and touring theatre.
Ruby’s first professional credit came through the Belfast Grand Central Station advertising campaign, Imagine Where We Can Go, which she secured by contacting the campaign’s advertising agency directly. Her screen work has since included the feature film I See Him, made with a director and two actors she met at university, and the international fantasy production The Sleeper: A Morrowind Story, in which she played a Nordic warrior for Sunderland-based production company Sunderverse Media, filming on location in Hong Kong.
Alongside her screen work, Ruby’s theatre experience includes performing with Theatre Space as part of their Summer of Shakespeare season, including The Taming of the Shrew at Durham Fringe, which led to a lead role in Little Red Riding Hood, a small-scale touring Christmas production featuring original music and a three-actor cast.
“Hustle is a key word when you’re starting out,” Ruby has said of building a career in the industry.
