Since graduating from The Northern School of Art’s BA (Hons) Film, TV and Theatre Production course, Sian Finlan-Tuck has built freelance experience across television, live sport and commercial production, working as a Runner and Data Wrangler on a range of professional projects.
Her credits include the BBC’s Great British Menu, The Hundred cricket tournament and a variety of commercial shoots. Working across different types of production has given Sian experience of the fast-paced and collaborative nature of the screen industry, while allowing her to develop practical skills across different areas of production.
Contributing to award-winning productions has been an important achievement for Sian and has helped her build experience and confidence as she develops her career within the industry. Her work as a Runner and Data Wrangler has also given her insight into the different roles and responsibilities involved in bringing professional productions together.
Alongside her freelance work in film and television, Sian has been working towards her dance teaching qualifications. Dance has always been another important creative interest for her, and she is developing her skills with the long-term ambition of bringing together her passions for dance and film.
Sian’s journey demonstrates how a career in Film, TV and Theatre Production can develop alongside other creative disciplines. By building practical industry experience while continuing to develop her expertise in dance, she is creating a pathway towards a career that brings both of her creative interests together.
