Staff donate art to auction for refugees
Staff have been so affected by the on-going refugee crisis that they have donated work to be auctioned off to support two North East charities which support refugees.
Jade Sweeting, Creative Director of Pulled Print Club as well as a member of the BA (Hons) Illustration for Commercial Application team and Antony Chambers of BA (Hons) Photography have kindly donated art to raise funds for two refugee wellbeing charities in Newcastle: The Comfrey Project and The Angelou Centre. Both provide vital winter programmes to provide meals, friendship, informal signposting and activities during the worst part of the year, and both organisations have been hard hit by funding cuts.
All work will be available to view at ERNEST from September 28 until October 3rd, when the auction takes place. Bids on prints, photographs and paintings will commence after the final viewing from 4.30pm. Ceramics, glassware and other items will follow at approximately 6.00pm.
If you cannot attend then fear not! You WILL be able to make sealed bids.
As well as Jade and Antony, other prestigious North East artists who have donated work include:
Jim Edwards
Narbi Price
Paul Alexander Knox
Emma Holliday
Bernadette Koranteng
Julia Roxburgh
George Ormerod
Joanna Bourne
David Whitton
Kathryn Hodgkinson
