Hartlepool Pop-up Pride Event: What’s on at The Northern School of Art!
Hartlepool Pop-Up Pride, a vibrant celebration of Hartlepool’s LGBTQIA+ community is taking place on Saturday 6th July 2024 with fun, free activities for all ages!
Pop-Up Pride is presented by Pride in Tees Valley, a project coordinated by Hartlepool-based LGBTQIA+ arts charity Curious Arts, in association with Hartlepool Art Gallery and our school. Our SU has worked with organisers on a number of activities to check out.
Speaking of the event Adam Strickland, Creative Producer at Curious Arts said: “The shared goal is to create a safe, inclusive, and joy-filled environment for the LGBTQIA+ community and wider community of Hartlepool to come together to celebrate love, acceptance, and unity. We have planned a variety of activities that cater to all ages, ensuring that everyone feels included and valued. Join us for a day of laughter, learning, and love, as we celebrate the vibrant array of identities that make up Hartlepool’s community.”
SU Student Rep and VP Lucy Mclellan said “being part of the committee board for Hartlepool Pop-up Pride has been a significant honour. Being able to offer our help in any way really feels like you’re making a difference. Even if it is recommending a performer or searching for stalls for the market! We’ve been able to get really involved, and our opinions have been really listened to. I just can’t wait for the 6th and see how what started as a concept comes together in the flesh!”
