Darren SowerbyPaleoart Inspired Velociraptor
My piece of work is that of a scientifically accurate Velociraptor inspired by the dinosaurs from Jurassic World and its outdated depictions of them. This specific model took inspiration from the real-life animal known as the bearded vulture; this can be seen within the colours that have been depicted within the model itself, the reason for choosing this specific bird is due to the fact it lives in the country where the Velociraptor was discovered.
This piece of work has been used to help display my creative skills primarily that in model making, more specifically that of sculpting. Although many other skills went into making this such as digital modelling and some base knowledge of lofting which was used to create the main body of the velociraptor.
I intend to use this model as a starting point in paleoart and I’m hoping my work will continue to increase from making more models such as these.

Jacob JonesTriceratops 2022
I have worked within the digital art programme known as Blender to create exciting character and props throughout working at the university. Many opportunities have presented due to the skills he has been able to develop at the university’s course of Visual Effects and Model Making both through self-teaching and assistance from the tutors. The university offers all the software needed to create fantastic digital pieces of artwork that can be implemented into video games along with creating the necessary animations for them too! Along with the appropriate modules and guidance to further your own model making journey, animated films and video games alike. Researching industry methods of creating digital models and implementing them within the projects set has allowed for an abundance of creative growth. Furthermore, more amazing opportunities have been offered throughout the three years of academic work such as speaking with industry professionals who have worked on projects such as Marvel’s Spiderman and working in studios such as Aardman animations.
