The Creative Placement Programme at The Northern School of Art is a selective, studio-based experience for Year 11 students who are serious about progressing into specialist creative education.

 

Unlike traditional work experience, this programme is school-nominated and application-based, ensuring that places are offered to students who demonstrate strong creative engagement, motivation, and interest in continuing their studies in art, design, and fashion.

What Is a Creative Placement?

 

A Creative Placement gives students the opportunity to spend 1–3 days immersed in a real college studio environment, working alongside current students and academic staff.

Who Can Apply?

 

This programme is for:

All placements are nominated by schools and reviewed by our recruitment and course teams.


 

How the Application Process Works

 

  1. School nomination – A teacher or careers lead nominates 3–5 students per placement group
  2. Creative review – We review course interest, creative engagement, and supporting work
  3. Confirmation – Successful schools and students receive a welcome pack and placement dates
