COURSE OVERVIEW

MA Creative Enterprise 1-year (full-time) Programme Specifications
The MA Creative Enterprise equips you with knowledge, practical experience, and technical skills to develop your own enterprise. You'll gain expertise in developing a business plan, project management, event organisation, marketing, with hands-on opportunities to turn your creative practice into a commercial success. This MA is ideal for those who intend to develop a business from an existing creative practice, or to understand how to create the infrastructure and environment for new creative businesses and self-employment. This programme responds to a growing self-employment market and business start-up environment for artist and designers and performers. The programme is supported by partnerships with regional cultural organisations and industry mentors who contribute to business development and professional practice. The curriculum provides structured opportunities for students to develop and produce a business that is genuinely ‘fit for purpose’, enabling a clear understanding of quality standards, market expectations, and viable routes to sale. This creative industry-focused programme typically provides 6 hours of contact time per week across the academic year, with increased independent supervised study in the final module. Students also have open access to studios and workshops for independent study (subject to School opening times and availability). In addition, students are expected to undertake independent study appropriate to a full-time undergraduate degree programme.
