COURSE DETAILS
3D Design is a two-year course that will encourage you to think critically about design and solve real-world problems. From the initial concept stage all the way through to final construction, you will learn the essentials of the creative process alongside important design theory which will transform you into a successful 3D Designer. If you’re interested in architecture, interior design, product design, set design for film and TV, exhibitions and immersive technologies including virtual reality, then this course will not only teach you the relevant skills but also prepare you for your future career.
The skills you will develop will be vast and varied, covering traditional formats such as hand and technical drawing, model making, sculpting and construction as well as digital techniques including SketchUp, Blender, Photoshop, 3D printing and virtual reality – all of which you will use to enhance your designs and create a professional portfolio.
In both years of the course, you will contextualise your learning through live briefs during which we take you out of the classroom and thrust you headfirst into the real-world of design. You’ll work with external clients to respond to industry briefs, putting you that step ahead when it comes to applying for higher education, an apprenticeship or an entry-level role in the creative industries. This course gives you the foundation, experience and confidence to take the next step.
