Summer Show 2018 | The Northern School of Art Middlesbrough
The final annual summer show as The Northern School of Art (CCAD) at the institutions campus in Middlesbrough has once again celebrated the future generation of artists and designers with students now going to employment and prestigious higher education institutions.
Putting their talents in the spotlight, over 300 students showcased their works from a wide range of courses at the summer exhibition including fashion, photography, 3D design, fine art and design crafts.
As the name of the institution will change to The Northern School of Art in September 2018, this is the final cohort of leavers who will have The Northern School of Art on their certificates; a name which originated 39 years ago.
Here are a selection of the students who are exhibiting this year:

Joas has finished A-Levels with us and will be progressing on to study Foundation Diploma with us in September 2018. Joas’ final major project was dedicated to his mum after what had been a difficult time for his family. His work is beautiful and really shows the love a son has for his hard-working, devoted mother. We are sure Joas’ mum is as proud of his work as his The Northern School of Art family are.

Holly, who previously studied at Stokesley School will be studying Foundation Diploma with us in September 2018. Holly is an example of a fantastic The Northern School of Art student; a good friend to others who is always supportive and helpful. She has a ‘can-do’ approach and a positive attitude. Michael has worked using a multi-disciplinary approach, producing intellectually informed work of a technically skilled basis. His practice is a culmination of extensive investigations and a high level of commendable engagement. All elements have been pushed far beyond what was initially envisioned into a presentation of work, executed to that of a degree level student.
