Middlesbrough campus Summer Show launches
A hugely popular preview event for students and their families and friends marked the launch of this year’s end of year show Summer Show at The Northern School of Art’s Middlesbrough campus.
Hundreds of guests enjoyed the first look at the impressive range of ambitious artwork and projects from students who are now heading off to a range of prestigious destinations around the UK in the next stage of their creative careers.
The exhibition celebrates the work by talented final year students at the Ofsted-rated Outstanding further education campus in Newport Road, Middlesbrough.
Displays of work feature work by students on the School’s wide range of creative UAL Extended Diploma courses including fashion, photography, fine art, art and design, graphic and interactive design, textiles and surface design, film and TV and interior, architecture and product design.
Also being showcased is the work of A Level students and displays by Foundation Diploma and Access to Higher Education students.
The Summer Show is now open to the public with free escorted tours available to book on Friday 16th, Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th June. Free tickets can be reserved via this link https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/fe-summer-show-2023-the-northern-school-of-art-college-level-public-tickets-637239168507

An open day for future students interested in joining the School is also taking place on Saturday 17 June from 10am – 1pm. Young creatives will have the opportunity to tour the campus, speak to staff and view the final year exhibition.
Ahead of the doors opening an emotionally charged awards ceremony saw the presentation of a series of awards recognising academic and creative excellence across the School’s programmes by The Northern School of Art’s Principal, Dr Martin Raby, and The Northern School of Art Governor, Ian Swain.
Ian commented: “It was an absolute pleasure and a privilege to be invited to choose the winners. All the work was outstanding and inspiring which made it hard to make the final decisions and everybody should be incredibly proud of what they have produced.”
All those nominated for an award received a certificate to display on their exhibition stand and winners and runners up were presented with a certificate and prize.
