Countdown to our Degree & Summer Show begins!
The annual end-of-year celebrations of work by final year students at The Northern School of Art’s Middlesbrough and Hartlepool campuses are taking place in June.
Showcasing work by graduating students, The Degree Show at the School’s university-level campus in Hartlepool (TS24 7DR) launches with an invitation-only preview on Thursday 1st June and is open to the public from Friday 2nd June to Friday 9th June (closed Sunday 4th June). Opening times are Monday-Thursday 10:00 – 19:00, Friday & Saturday 10:00 – 16:00. Entrance is free.
The FE Summer Show featuring work by leavers at The Northern School of Art’s Middlesbrough campus (TS1 1LA) has its official invitation-only launch on Wednesday 14 June. Bookings are available for public viewing on Friday 16th, Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th June. Free tickets can be reserved via this link.

Unveiling new names to watch out for in the creative sector, the events will feature work from the School’s wide range of degree and school leaver visual arts and stage and screen degree courses.
Other end of year showcases include events by by graduating students on the acting and film and TV degree courses at ARC Stockton Arts Centre as part of the School’s ongoing partnership with the leading Tees Valley cultural venue. ‘The Northern Film Festival’ and a specially commissioned stage production of ‘When all that’s left’ by playwright Lucy Curry are playing to packed houses on 23, 24 and 25 May.
Students from The Northern School of Art’s weekly Middlesbrough campus Saturday art clubs are also marking the end of year, with exhibitions of work at Somerset House in London in June by National Saturday Club students and displays by the Saturday Creative Kids and Art Clubs at the end of term in July.
From January to March this year postgraduate artists and designers from the School’s MA courses staged ‘The Northern Art Gala’, a five-venue exhibition of work by 65 artists on the theme of ‘Souvenir’ in a range of venues across the Tees Valley whilst postgraduate MA Directing and Theatre Making presented an exciting evening of contemporary theatre, ‘Off the Clock’, at the Hartlepool campus theatre on 18 May.
