Beth FoyChrissy the Carnotaurus puppet
I enjoy anything and everything that allows me to be creative. I have worked as a live actor at Scream Factory Redcar and have volunteered at Tanfield Railway working with the steam trains. I love Film, TV and Games and have previously trained in Animation, Games Design and VFX at Newcastle college. I have a deep interest in designing and love the mechanics of how things work, especially with puppeteering; how something that was never alive could be brought to life. I enjoy creating new characters and bringing them and other characters to life through Cosplay.

My passion for education, inclusivity and desire to create have combined over the last three years into a unique and interesting pathway. I have a post graduate placement lined up to start in September and I can't wait to use my passion for the creative industries to help young people.

Eline M Eriksen DybfestStill from Pillars of Creation
Aspiring set designer/maker based in UK/Norway. A background in art history and a great passion for exploring sustainable practices within the entertainment industry. I am dedicated, flexible and so very willing to learn. I am always interested in working on a variety of projects, genres and styles in theatre, film and TV. For my FMP I collaborated with film-students on their sci-fi short: “Pillars of Creation”, from first draft through filming which gave me an idea of what was required of an art department throughout most stages of production, and experiences I know will be valuable in an industry setting.

Emma GilroyA Fairy Tale In Toy Theatre
I created this toy theatre and story book for my Final Major Project based on the Grimm fairy tale of Snow-White and Rose-Red. I took inspiration for the stage design and book cover from Darlington Hippodrome and hope to work with them in the future to put on toy theatre workshops. I also created a mini theatre style exhibition set out of multiple canvas pieces which will display my book and toy theatre at an exhibition next year. Through my work, I hope to introduce more children to the world of toy theatres and paper craft.

Georgia BellConcept Art for Luna Vintage
For my final major project I wanted to explore different ways production design can be implemented in different areas of design. I focuses on retail design, creating a retail space that uses theatrical design to create an experience driven retail environment, including design features like a flower wall and repurposed pallets for furniture. My main goal is to be in events design and design spaces for events from weddings to large event stages such as festivals.

Kirstin HuttonUnBearable, Game Concept Design
My final set was an excerpt of the log cabin that I designed as a part of my game concept ‘UnBearable’. The fictional game features childish style animation designs and movement sketches featuring stuffed animals. Ironically including a darker contrasting side with a scary monster and skin-of-your-teeth escapes. My set would not have been used in the film and theatre but for promotion and display of the game concept itself! I have adapted many skills within this creative process; I’m most comfortable with designing concepts and characters with a fictional environment, as this particularly sparks my creativity!

Leigh TurnerNuketown 2025
I have created this design recreation as an updated film set from a game. The game Call of Duty, Black Ops 2: Nuketown, is a small area of map allowing for multiplayer game play, I wanted to incorporate this ground plan into my film set designs. I have designed this as a working film set to allow for a more modernised and personal version of the game, so that the players could interact with it in a different way if the set was used for a film. Along side this I have conducted research to support my evolved designs as well as writing my dissertation based upon ‘How (has) Immersive Technology impacted on gaming culture’; discussing the effects of player immersion within videos games and how this creates a personal aspect, then using the research to discuss whether on not design can be used to recreate this within the film industry. Through the course of this project I have been able to significantly improve my design work, creating working ground plans and using supporting images to show the layout and ideas I have. This project gave me the opportunity to write my own brief and to create a film set based upon game research.

Lydia MaclureResident Evil 7: Biohazard Full Size Film Set
For my Final Major Project I wanted to merge my love for gaming and film by creating a film set based on the game Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The incredibly decayed housed from the game is what I based my researched on and developed my own designs from to work in film. I chose to then build and finish a full size kitchen set along with ground plans and designs for the rest of the house. In this, I used many techniques including joinery, wallpapering and construction, while using recycled materials to cut costs and to be eco-friendly.

Olivia SpringerStop-motion Set of Hyde's Study
The three years I have spent at university have enhanced my knowledge and skills in production design. I have learnt and developed many software and practical techniques to demonstrate the ideas that I have into designs along with models. Using these skills and more I applied them to the planning, designing and making of my projects where I have strived to produce well detailed and creative work. Shown in the fine details that are included in the stop-motion set model I made for my major project.

Chloe SmithThe Dread Doctors
The set that I built for my Final Major Project is for three characters called ‘The Dread Doctors’, who were originally created for a TV series called ‘Teen Wolf’. This set would be used as a study laboratory to hold their test samples and important information. I wanted the appearance of my set to be very worn down and abandoned. My strongest skill set is designing and adding detail as I prefer my work to be more realistic, but, I also found that I am good at creating a full scale set as seen in my Final Major Project.

Joe LittlerWild West Saloon Set
I enjoy all aspects of the production design process, from initial designs and drawings to set construction and model making. This set was inspired by the 2018 video game Red Dead Redemption II. I imagined the story being retold as a television series.
