Holly RussellFor my Final Major Project I have designed and constructed a full scale set, complete with set dressing, based on a key location from book 2 of the Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo. It is the interior of a crypt which the protagonists use as a safe house.

My final major project is based on a Tabletop game call Dungeons and Dragons a world where you have no rule or barriers to be held within. However my set is based on a witch hut that lives in the middle of 8 different realms.

My FMP is based on the book 'The Thin House' by Jake Nickens. During this project I focused on creating a series of concept art and sketches, focusing on the living room and the hallway. I also made two 1:25 scale colour models of these sets to accompany the drawings.

Trish MayesDesign Cindy
Cindy is a modern retelling of the Fairy story of Cinderella. A tale of familial child abuse, neglect, and slavery, and when Cindy finds a friend in Becca who takes her into a world of lifestyles she only dreamt of, she meets Prince who she falls for, this leads to grooming, sex trafficking and the kidnapping. The set reflects the cell Cindy ends up after being trafficked. This is also link to my dissertation Cinderella and Modern Women. Is the story over?

This project is based on the video game ‘Luigi’s Mansion 3’ specifically the magic themed ‘Twisted Suites’. The set is scaled up by 50% so that actors will look smaller than real life. The architecture is inspired by the 1920’s Art Deco movement and is a fantastical take on reality.

I am an ambitious innovative designer. My passion is modelmaking. Fun fact: anyone can prove that I can make a prop out of nothing, since I have a brilliant imagination and love recycling. During the university years I made realistic props of cauldrons and pirate chests out of pizza boxes.
