My Phobias collection are a range of interior wallpapers that create a modern atmosphere with a unique feel, the collection could be used in both Residential Interiors and Commercial Interiors. Aims to explore a range of personal style and taste, the collection is mainly for young adults or businesses from the Mid-Market. This concept was a personal challenge as I looked into my own phobias alongside other increasingly common Phobias. This collection shows how personal phobias and challenging imagery can be used to create highly decorative prints for a range of products in Interiors.

I have created a collection of swim and leisurewear. The concept combines the physical beauty of water and its gifts with the beauty it makes us feel. Which is what I want customers to feel when wearing my garments. The inspiration for the work derived from personal feelings when in and around water. Combining expressive and figurative art around the subject has formed unique prints that stand out, which is important as I am setting up my own business around swim and leisurewear and I want my work to be individual and unique for customers. Seeing the elements of my work tie together to form these swim and leisure pieces has fulfilled my vision of creating wearable art that combines the physical beauty of water with the beauty it makes us feel.

I am an aspiring Surface Pattern Designer. All my designs have been created using hand and digital drawings with digital refinement and created digitally for a pattern design. I always had a passionate and impressive interest in Textiles for as long as I can remember. Coming from a passionate, colourful, diverse, compassionate, and driven culture, I was always fascinated by colours, shapes, textures, prints on fabrics, patterns and much more and from there I believe I retain a fondness for the art of prints. Since a young age, I have always been so fascinated by nature. I remember sitting for hours near the coastal area especially where I could see the view of water waves coming forward and backwards like they all are racing with each other. The sounds of water waves were so calming amid a quiet and noisy atmosphere. The breeze was so fresh and the whole scenario is a humble experience of life each day. The plants were taken from my home garden that my mum has grown with lots of effort, hard work, love, care, and attention.

Emily BettsOde to Mother Earth
My final major project communicates the beauty of nature through the use of floral motifs and conscious design. I have explored the concept of biophilic design which means people’s health and wellbeing can be improved when they are surrounded by design including natural elements (leaves, flowers etc). To incorporate biophilic design into my practice, I have ensured to work with floral imagery and natural colours across my collection. I have also tried to make my project as sustainable as possible by experimenting with natural dyeing (using onion skins, avocado skins/stones and alder cones), painting with earth pigments and using fabrics such as hemp and organic cotton to avoid synthetics and harsh chemicals which are common in the textile industry.

My Final Major Project collection consists of interior pieces with my prints within them. All my repeat prints are digitally designed using my own drawings from imagery I have taken. For the future, I plan to continue working within interior design for myself or companies in that industry.

My concept is based upon my Dad’s allotment in which I spent a lot of time in over lockdown last summer. I have explored the allotment as more of a safe haven, a place away from the current coronavirus crisis in which we have been living in for over a year now. I have used colour theory and looked into the psychology of colour in order for my designs to create an uplifting feel to their audience and therefore make people feel brighter and positive, something different in which the coronavirus has left everyone feeling.

Charlotte ClarkClassic Tales
'Classic Tales' is a collection of handpainted wallpaper and mural designs suitable for both commercial and conventional interiors. All designs symbolically represent my personal interpretation of the themes discussed within Hans Christian Andersen's narratives. Each design has been created with the purpose of acknowledging the significance of historic tales and folklore within modern society, as well as the prevalence of enchantment within all stages of life.

I explored how different cultures perceive the visual translation of a ‘positive afterlife’. To do this I am analysing the literal and metaphorical links between religion and art; this consists of a deep appreciation for flora and fauna. Religion has been my starting point for research and image inspiration however my work does not reflect any faith. My final designs are for a collection of sustainable/eco friendly gift wraps.

My final major project centres around architectural details in churches and looks at how these buildings become special to their communities through the smaller details that make up the bigger picture. To explore this theme, I created a collection of A2 digitally printed fashion fabrics samples that use traditional embroidery techniques such as tambour beading, silk shading and gold work.

Annie WrightArchitectural Paris
For my Final Major Project, I have explored the various aspects of the city of Paris. The city’s historical architectural features and street furniture are the main focus and source of inspiration for my imagery. With a heavy bold and statement like aesthetic, my designs and outcomes are suited to the higher end of the fashion and interiors market. I have produced an interiors collection that reflects my digital design and my textile construction skills. The fashion collection is a demonstration of my printing and garment making skills. My high-end bespoke screen-printed fitted jacket is an amalgamation of my Parisian inspired design work, reflecting my aesthetic as a surface designer and maker.
