Christmas Winter Festival
A new concept in craft fairs is coming to town! A Winter Festival has been organised by Cleveland College of Art & Design’s (CCAD) Student Union Team on Wednesday 2nd December in Hartlepool and promises to be an exciting pre-Christmas event.
CCAD’s Student Union (SU) is a newly established team of volunteers based at CCAD led by Beth Hanley, Student Union President. She said: “CCAD has been made a huge impact throughout my years of studying in both venues, it seems only right to become a member of the SU team and to help organise bespoke events that both students, CCAD alumni and the general public can be a part of.”
Over the last few months, the SU team has been meeting with lots of different businesses and preparing for lots of other quirky events. The SU has already secured some of Teesside’s finest designer makers and artists, with all of the products sold at this exciting fair completely handmade.
Adele Catchpole from SU added: “We are wanting to promote local artists and makers and incite people into some of the techniques the stall holders use to produce their work. Our whole reason for doing these events is to not only promote our university but to also create more of a creative hub of Church Square.”
During the evening and to add to the Christmas magic of the festival, there will be a range of acoustic performances from local musicians and seasonal snacks on offer. Alongside the Winter Festival is the Christmas light switch on right outside of the venue. The event is being held at CCAD on Church Square in Hartlepool.
