Student’s stunning photographs of Teesside landmarks raising money for charity
A collection of stunning shots of notable Teesside landmarks by photography degree student Lee Bullivant is helping to raise funds for charity.
The BA (Hons) Photography student has created a 2023 calendar using some of his favourite images from South Gare in Redcar, including images taken in the final days of the Redcar blast furnace, to raise money for the Veterans Charity.
Lee, 40, benefitted from life-changing support from the charity after suffering with PTSD on his return from a three-year tour of duty in Northern Ireland in 2005 when he was serving in the Army.
In an interview with Teesside Live Hartlepool-based Lee said that this was his way of thanking the charity that had been so instrumental in helping him: “They helped me with gas, electric and food and I really wanted to give something back to them and in turn they can go on to support so many other veterans.”
After discovering a passion for photography whilst he was volunteering at Finchale in Durham, Lee is now studying on The Northern School of Art’s Photography degree course.
He added: “I am really enjoying the course, it gives me the chance to hone in on my skills and all of the staff are fantastic. I am hoping to go into teaching once I’ve completed the course.”
Lee’s calendars are 30cm x 30cm and cost £8.99 each. There has been demand for copies from across the UK, with copies being despatched as far as Cornwall.
