EPAM workshop with FE Graphic Design!
UAL Extended Diploma in Graphic Design students have had the fantastic opportunity to work with EPAM, an international company based in Newcastle who focus on Software and User Experience with clients that include Epic Games, Vue Cinemas and J. K. Rowling (Harry Potter).
Designers Gary and Alex visited the FE Graphic Design cohort last month on 18th January 2023. Present an in-depth interactive presentation on the company and client process from initial meeting to final outcome.
This developed into a hands-on corporate branding Workshop with the learners who had the task of analysing and creating branding for fictional companies. Learners then presented these ideas to Gary & Alex as the clients. Allowing our student vital presentation and pitching experience to a client.
Student’s enjoyed the interactive elements of the workshop commenting, “I thought it was great, loved how interactive the guys where and I think the workshop helped with getting a small understanding of the types of projects that you would deal with in industry’
Employer Feedback
The EPAM guys where impressed by the school’s facilities, “Alex and I were both really impressed with the setup, the facilities, studio with lots of natural light. A lovely space to be in.Our staff members work hard to cultivate relationships with brands and companies to ensure that our students are able to gain vital experience and possible connections during their time with us. Employability is a huge focus of all of our courses, giving students and authentic and realistic interpretation of working in their chosen industries.
Speaking about the student Alex and Gary said “The students were great – some clever creative ideas from each group. I was really pleased in the workshops that all the students, confident or shy, pitched in to some extent. The girls at the back with the Kids Club and Alien ideas I thought nailed the task especially well. Some of the ideas put forward for the airlines brand, Alex and I thought were impressive.”
